Schedule Management:

The master schedule is used by supervisory or central schedulers to update and monitor daily schedules and record absences as they are called in or scheduled in advance. Allowing the master scheduler to immediately log the absence also lets the scheduler know if the absence causes a critical shortage that needs to be filled to have the proper coverage. It is also used to create an open position in a particular area should the situation warrant increased coverage. Any vacancies or additional staffing requirements are noted in the personal schedules of qualified caregivers so they may make a request to the scheduler via electronic notification to fill that open position. Schedulers will respond within XX number of hours to either approve the request or not.

No one is kept waiting for a distribution of a work schedule via email or printed report.  Schedules are available to everyone when the master scheduler releases it.
